Message from President Carol Peek
Hello Everyone,
My name is Carol Peek, the proud president of VESPA. It is my honor to represent the ESPs of the Ventura Unified School District.
We are in for some rough weeks ahead. There is a School Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th, where a list of layoffs and reductions will be presented and approved. I am asking for ALL ESPs to attend this meeting, wearing our red VESPA t-shirts. We will be working in solidarity with our union siblings, VUEA. We will also be negotiating on Wednesday, February 11th, so again I am asking for all members to wear red in support of our negotiation team. There is a high probability that we will be declaring impasse on Total Compensation and Layoff Language. We need to support each other now more than ever! We are the foundation and heart of VUSD. We are important to the students that we serve. Now is the time to act and participate! I will be sharing organizing information to you all via email. We are stronger together, Stronger than EVER! Thank you for your support. We got this!
