 Hello Everyone,
My name is Carol Peek, and I am the proud president of VESPA. It is an honor to represent the educational support professionals (ESPs) of the Ventura Unified School District.
As we begin this year, VESPA, along with our union siblings VUEA, is still in mediation in relation to negotiations. Both the unions and the district have agreed upon a mutual party to facilitate the meetings. We have met on four different occasions, with the last on September 4th, where we still did not reach an agreement. We are waiting to see if the mediator will be releasing us to our next step, Fact Finding.
Now, more than ever, we need to support each other. Your presence and participation show your commitment to fighting for what is right for ALL union members. Please visit our Organizing page, along with our Upcoming Events page, for up-to-date information. We do NOT want to strike, but will if we have to for a fair and equitable settlement.
We are the foundation and heart of VUSD. We are essential to the students we serve.
